For Maltsev, flowering village gardens became a kind of portrait of Ukraine itself. Having fought across Europe and reached Berlin, the artist later recognized his homeland not through monuments or cities, but through the quiet harmony of orchards, fields, and lived rural space. The blossoming trees fill the landscape with light and movement, transforming an ordinary view into an image of belonging. This is not an idealized scene, but a deeply personal vision - the land remembered and rediscovered after distance and hardship.
