Overlooking the quiet bends of the river and distant village hills, this landscape reflects Maltsev's deep attachment to his native Chuhuiv region. Rather than a panoramic view, the composition feels intimate - as if seen from a familiar path known since childhood.
On the hill across the river, the silhouette of a church marks the village of Kochetok - a place the artist painted repeatedly throughout his life.
Autumn here is not a season of decline but of fullness and reflection. Warm foliage contrasts with the calm water and soft horizon, creating a sense of balance between memory and present time.
Through such views, the artist returned again and again to the land that shaped him - transforming personal belonging into a universal image of home.
